The Artist
Darhk Raven
A storyteller in shadow and sound — loyal to no genre, only to the tale a song demands to tell.
Darhk Raven is the performing voice — the lyrics arrive under the name Raven Darhk, the compositions under Mika Masuccio. Three names, one current; a single body of work moving through different rooms of the same house.
She is not loyal to a genre. She is loyal to the story. Whatever shape best serves the song — that is the shape the song takes. Darhk Nursery Rhymes alone moves through metal, symphonic metal, opera, country, folk, pop, dubstep, hip hop and further still, because no single sound could carry all of it.
For Tales From the Darhk Forge, every nursery rhyme is rewritten from the bones up — not sampled, not quoted, not winked at. The familiar cradle-songs are torn down and rebuilt, the horror inside them claimed and made wholly her own.
With Ashes Over Eden already out and Tales From the Darhk Forge Part 1: Darhk Nursery Rhymes arriving May 19th, the saga is only beginning. Five parts. Hundreds of tracks. One long, slow burning hymn.
